The project financed by the Erasmus + program and organized by the association Timiș Torontal Intercommunity took place between August 23-29, at Marabu Camp, Milcoveni village, Caraș-Severin county.
42 young people aged 16-24 from Romania, Italy, Germany, Greece, Lithuania and Turkey participated in this project.
The objectives of the project were:
– to increase participants’ knowledge of the current migration crisis in Europe and the fundamental principles of human rights
– to help the participants to recognize and fight hate speech, discrimination against migrants, refugees, asylum seekers
– to promote human rights and inclusion
– to develop the self-esteem of young people from severely disadvantaged backgrounds using various art forms, an expression of dialogue such as theatre, drama, flash mobs.
During the 8 days of the project, have been applying working methods based on non-formal education were such as various forms of theatre, games, workshops such as dance, music, interaction with locals, intercultural evenings, reflection.
All the participants had the opportunity to understand what human rights mean, what negative effects they have when these rights are not respected, what equality and inclusion are and how they can help them to respect these rights and to accept disadvantaged people by society.
